So, I feel like things have gotten super negative and yuck and despairing lately (although we’re not wrong in the untoward things we are calling out, it just sucks to have to be unhappy with Zayn and Harry all the time.) While we will not be chastised for our opinions or calling out icky behavior on both sides, I just wanted us and everyone to remember this community started from a place of sincere love, hope, and celebration for a magnificent and untold lovestory (regardless of its many flaws.)
So if anyone has anything loving or positive to say about Zayn and Harry or their story, I’m all ears.
I’ll go first. So uh…yeah…
Um, I like their music? Lol it’s pretty cool. Even apart from the Zarry aspects, it rocks. (1D’s music was incredible too btw.) And I’m proud of both of their accomplishments in the industry at so young an age.
I still remember when I first hopped on this train years ago (YEARS?? OMG WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?? What can I say, I fell in love with making videos no matter who they’re about.)
Check out my second channel why don’t you:
Back to these guys:
It all started from me accidentally discovering 2014 Zarry on Jimmy Kimmel (while researching Larry and finding nothing) and then dipping back into 2013 and getting hooked on Zayn and Harry’s very real and very underrated relationship.
Watch a mini video of me narrating how I discovered Zarry here:
Earlier when I first started looking into Larry, it was because I looked into Harry Styles in 2017. The first thing I remember watching of solo Harry was his interview with Chelsea Handler. It was hilarious and I was so attracted to his boyish handsomeness and his deep, rich voice. (One of the youtubers I watched at the time kept being compared to Harry because of his voice. I am so grateful for those comments.)
I then remembered back that Harry was the guy who Taylor Swift had dated, and I remembered how I couldn’t stand him because of his mop of hair lmao. (I think maybe it was a British thing and I just didn’t understand.) He was always boyishly handsome to me, but he just didn’t look sophisticated enough to be with her. That’s back when I was an actual semi-fan of her (not that I don’t like her right now, I think she’s very beautiful and talented, it’s just that my music taste has evolved rapidly as I aged.)
Then I looked up current-day Zayn (in 2017) after falling in love with him and his accent from 2014. I can’t quite remember which posts I saw of him first. But I just very vividly remember him actively posting a selfie in late 2017 (sigh, he keeps deleting all his effing IG pics) but that one of him with the low haircut and in a green jumper/sweater. He looked gorgeous.
And I remember thinking: Oh, he’s dressed quite smartly. What a lovely chap. Such a charming old fellow.
Making videos started in 2018 after I began comparing their music and found tons of connections, and people who liked my connections encouraged me to make a video. I will always be grateful to them even if they dislike me now for my opinions (lmfaooo). I also went on to make videos because I thought a lot of the things Harry was doing to show he was in love with Zayn were being ignored or not properly represented by other Zarry accounts, and this helped me to stand out from other Zarries (many of whom still inspired me greatly with their content) because my theories were unpopular from the jump.
I’m quite a thorough researcher when I want to be and when something intrigues me, so I discovered “I Won’t Mind” early on. And right away I pointed out the connections between “I Won’t Mind” and “Meet Me In The Hallway.” After finding that, in addition to noticing how Zarry used to act together…..
……and then noticing how Harry would not sing Zayn’s solo parts on March 25, 2015, I was convinced these two men simply did not hate each other, despite Zayn saying he never really talked to harry, even while in the band. That’s just anti-science, Zayn. I knew then that Harry’s “From The Dining Table” was written about Zayn, and that Zayn’s Dusk Till Dawn was a response to it, and that everything else in between was damage control for their post-band relationship. Don’t even get me started on when I discovered Jamaica 2016 and the freaking Rose Ring.
I looked further into their lyrics, and the rest is history.
Thanks for listening. Would love to hear your thoughts!
